| Torrevieja is a busy costal holiday town approximately half way between Cartagena and Alicante. Originally a small fishing village it has become the fastest growing town in Spain. Nestling between two large salt lakes and the Mediterranean, Torrevieja has its own micro-climate, considered by the World Health Organisation to be one of the healthiest in the world. Torrevieja has been awarded for being among the most environmentally minded municipalites in Spain. Torrevieja is within easy striking distance of both Alicante airport at El Altet and Murcia Airport. The town is on the N332 which is the main coast road running from Barcelona to Malaga and within easy reach of the Autopiste del Medetarraneo.
